Welcome to Internship Central!

Did you know that VCU English majors can get course credit for up to two internships?

These internships can be on campus or off, business-related or creative, and give you a sense of the different careers available to those with a B.A. in English.  Plus, an internship can add some impressive professional experience to your resume before you get your degree!

This blog is designed to tell you everything you need to know about getting an internship that works for you and for English course credit.  Explore the tabs above for the necessary info and answers to FAQ, as well as ideas for possible internships, examples of student work that grew out of internships, and anecdotes students have shared about their internship experiences.

FYI:
  • Preferably, you secure and apply for an internship the semester before the internship begins
  • When eligible for course credit, internships count as upper level English electives
  • You can use internship credit toward a writing or creative writing minor

Best of luck!
